Openings & IMS 2026 — the start of the season, decoded

Exact dates, confirmed line-ups, official ticket links and insider advice for living the start of the season on the white island — from the opening parties to the IMS "Reclaim The Dancefloor" edition.

Why opening parties on Ibiza matter

An opening party on Ibiza isn't a launch. It's a declaration of intent for the entire summer to come — the night the clubs lay out their cards, sets, and ambitions for the next five months.

The 2026 season opens on April 4th with Es Paradis, but the real centre of gravity is the weekend of April 24–27, anchored to the IMS festival. Aficionados know this is the most authentic moment of the year — full clubs, real fans, before the July–August crowds arrive.

"Openings aren't just the first nights of summer. They're declarations of intent for the whole season to come."

One date to circle in red: Amnesia turns 50 on May 9th, with a 14-hour marathon opening that won't happen again in our lifetimes.

The IMS festival — "Reclaim The Dancefloor"

From April 22–24, the 17th edition of the International Music Summit takes over Mondrian & Hyde Ibiza in Cala Llonga. Founded in 2007 by Pete Tong and Ben Turner, IMS is the global electronic music industry's annual gathering.

The 2026 theme — Reclaim The Dancefloor — is both rallying cry and uncomfortable question: how to preserve the founding culture of electronic music against private equity, AI, and the pressure of digital innovation? 140+ sessions, workshops and keynotes will explore it across three days.

The IMS Business Report unveiled on day one will reveal a record figure: the global electronic music industry is now valued at $15.1 billion — a historic high.

The grand finale at Dalt Vila

Each year IMS closes with one of the most beautiful nights of the season: IMS Dalt Vila, on Friday 24 April. Seven hours of open-air music at the top of Ibiza's old town — a UNESCO world heritage site — with medieval ramparts lit, panoramic views over the sea, and a carefully curated line-up.

"Dancing on Ibiza's ramparts at sunrise, surrounded by the people who run the global industry — there's nothing else quite like it." — Stéphanie, founder

Practical advice from us

  1. Buy tickets directly. Openings sell out in hours, sometimes minutes. Avoid resellers — prices are often tripled.
  2. Book accommodation now. The April 24–27 weekend is the most in-demand of the year. The best villas go months in advance.
  3. Hï and Ushuaïa open on different days in 2026. Saturday 25 vs Sunday 26 — plan both.
  4. Don't miss Amnesia's 50th. May 9th. A once-in-a-lifetime event.
  5. Combine IMS + openings. Arrive Wednesday for IMS, stay through to Monday — six days, the full island.
